To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Moffat Tunnel, a new, generously illustrated, coffee-table-format book is being developed, drawing upon original research, historical photographs, archival discoveries, and the remarkable personal stories of those who helped bring this extraordinary Colorado engineering achievement to life. Beyond the engineering and construction, the book will explore the people, perseverance, hardships, and human costs behind the tunnel, presenting both familiar history and discoveries that have remained largely untold.

A century after its completion, new chapters of the Moffat Tunnel’s history are still being uncovered.
