The Public Lands Comment Hub brings together active proposals and public comment opportunities affecting the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and qualifying public land matters in Grand, Gilpin, and Boulder Counties. Its purpose is to make participation easier by helping residents, visitors, organizations, and other interested parties understand what is being proposed, why it matters, and how to submit comments while the public can still influence the record and the resulting decision. Public comment is most effective when it is specific, informed, and tied to the proposal, its impacts, reasonable alternatives, or potential mitigation. Before responding, read our Constructive Public Comment page for a practical primer on preparing useful, credible input. Then stay active: review new proposals, follow deadlines, share relevant information, and participate early enough for your perspective to become part of the decision making process.

Regardless of your position on a particular issue and whether or not you align with a popular opinion or hold minority viewpoints, your respectful involvement and participation in the public process is crucial. Your voice, perspective, experiences, knowledge, objections, and values makes our democracy work. The exchange of ideas from a well-informed community weaves a strong tapestry of ideas, fostering both healthy discourse and decision making. Scope notice: This hub is intentionally limited to U.S. Forest Service proposals affecting Boulder, Gilpin, and Grand Counties and should not be relied upon to identify proposals, undertakings, or public comment opportunities elsewhere, including in neighboring counties. It does not include Pawnee National Grassland or Forest Service proposals centered outside this three county focus area, except where a broader Forest Service action clearly bears on these counties. This project index does not monitor notices or opportunities issued by the Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Federal Highway Administration, or Colorado state and county agencies. Preserve Rollins Pass monitors many of these sources separately, but they are not included here so this page remains focused, clear, and useful within its Forest Service scope. The absence of a project should not be interpreted as confirmation that no other public review, permit action, hearing, or comment period is underway; visitors should consult the appropriate agency’s official website for matters beyond the coverage of this hub.
